From 1950 to 1994, the best of Ducati
The exhibition is dedicated exclusively to single-cylinder and twin-cylinder Ducati motorcycles built between 1950 and 1994. Many of the bikes on display contributed to making Ducati a famous name and there are several rarities including the legendary TECFAR/COBAS F1 750, a project by Franco Farnè (head of Ducati’s racing and R&D department at the time) and Ricardo Fargas.
The firm friendship between the two led to the idea of Ducati’s first trellis frame for the Pantah engine. Antonio Cobas created the frame, seat, fuel tank and swing arm then Ducati completed and finished the motorcycle, which is the only one of its kind in the whole world.

Lucio Dalla's Motorcycle
Don’t miss this special edition Ducati Scrambler, certainly the bike most dreamt of by many fans of the time, who nowadays have rather greyer hair.
This blue and silver bike, custom-made by Rino Caracchi, was the first motorcycle owned by the late singer-songwriter from Bologna, Lucio Dalla.
In memory of Rino Caracchi
With Rino’s Garage, Rino Caracchi’s son Stefano pays tribute to his father who died in 2018, by creating an exhibition dedicated to his great passion: motorcycles. Together with Giorgio Nepoti, Rino created the legendary NCR racing team, which was based in Bologna in Via Signorini, just three kilometres from the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale.
From the late 1960s to the early '80s the NCR Racing Team created unique motorcycles that were excellent from every point of view, and capable of winning in word-class competitions.
The Bologna-based team NCR, which was initially run by Nepoti, Caracchi and Rizzi and later became Nepoti Caracchi Racing, covered the role of external racing department for Ducati. Together with the British motorcycle champion Mike Hailwood, in 1978 they won the prestigious Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man. Following this Ducati started producing and selling replica versions of the bike.
Pictures from past
The display also includes numerous evocative photos from the past, reminders of the achievements of the people of Ducati including Franco Farnè as well as Giorgio Nepoti and Rino Caracchi of the NCR Ducati team.
It’s a true celebration of the emotions that connected these great men to the Ducati brand, a precious record of their incredible passion and their immense strength.
These men challenged the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturers, and despite such a huge gap in financial resources they had the courage and tenacity to continue believing firmly in their dreams.
